Crazy Horse Memorial Volksmarch

Black Hills area events will help you plan your trip, or make your planned trip more spectacular by soaking up some local color!

There are many local favorite things to do around here all year long. But these are the biggest and the best the Hills area offers!

Stock Show and Rodeo
Jan. 31st - Feb. 9th 2014

The Stock Show and Rodeo is a favorite Black Hills Event! Cowboys and Cowgirls come from all over to participate in the events. PRCA rodeos, cattle shows and sales, team roping, AQHA show, ranch horse competition, horse sales, and Sheepdog trials. Many vendors come from all over the country to show off their stuff for sale too! Held at the Civic Center in Rapid City.

Mardi Gras
Feb. 28th thru March 1st 2014

Mardi Gras is a non stop fun party held every year in Deadwood! Expect to find parades, costume contests, parties and plenty of live music and entertainment. Cajun food cook off is a popular event. This year there is a masquerade party at the new Deadwood Mountain Grand. Save room in your bags for all the beads!

Rainbow Trout Custer State Park

Open House Weekend

Enjoy Custer State Park for their open house weekend. Get free entrance and free fishing, with no fishing licenses required this weekend only! Great and cheap way to get to see the Park and all of it's gorgeous wildlife! The Park always has lots of really great programs scheduled for this weekend too.

Crazy Horse up close

Crazy Horse Volksmarch
June 7th and 8th 2014

Only 2 days of the year are you allowed to get up close and this personal with the Crazy Horse Monument. A local favorite Black Hills Event for sure!

The locals aren't the only ones to enjoy this, people come from all over to participate in one of the largest organized Volksmarches in the World! Great hike sure to wear you out, but at the top it is quiet rewarding to see this behemoth this close, and the views are spectacular!

New! In 2013 they started an Autumn Volksmarch, and they have announced dates for 2014!

Crazy Horse Autumn Volksmarch

Sept. 28 and 29
